Introduction
This position was an extension of the DREAM project focusing on kinesiology portion regarding the study and data collection of spinal cord injury participants.
Project Scope
Beginning January 2019, the DREAM project conducted an 8-week participant study on 4 spinal cord injury participants. I assisted in collecting VO2 and EMG data for correlation analysis. I also assisted in setting up the equipment for the in-home study. Other tasks involved assisting the kinesiology department with their weekly group-based workout sessions.
Tasks and Roles
• Assisted with VO2 and EMG data collection on SCI and control subjects in-lab
• Visited participants in their homes to update software, set and calibrate EMG thresholds, and refill disposable electrodes
• Assisted trainers with maintaining workout logs for participants during group-based exercises.
